Pasternak, Baum & Co., Inc. is committed to responsible sourcing and to addressing environmental, social, and human rights concerns linked to its palm oil supply chain in a transparent and timely manner.

As a palm oil trader, Pasternak does not own or operate plantations or mills. However, it uses its commercial relationships and available leverage to promote compliance with its No Deforestation, No Peat, and No Exploitation (NDPE) commitments and internationally recognized standards.

The grievance mechanism is open to any stakeholder—including workers, communities, smallholders, suppliers, NGOs, and other interested parties—who wish to raise concerns related to Pasternak’s palm oil operations or supply chain. Submissions may be made anonymously, and retaliation against individuals raising concerns in good faith is strictly prohibited.

What Happens After a Grievance is Submitted

All submissions are assessed for relevance, severity, and linkage to Pasternak’s operations or supply chain. Actions are taken in a proportionate manner and may include supplier engagement, corrective action plans, independent verification, or escalation measures where necessary.

Response timeframes depend on the severity and complexity of the issue, with urgent matters prioritized to prevent or mitigate harm.

Aggregated and anonymized information on grievances and their status is disclosed publicly as part of Pasternak’s transparency commitments.
